If the scent is too strong, add more starch (1 to 2 parts) and baking soda (1 part). I learned the obvious, that whatever form the ingredients take on at room temperature will influence the final form of the cooled deodorant. Usage of natural deodorant in these days is getting more familiar almost with all people.
Mind, I live in Europe where spray deodorant appears to be more common than stick (with women, at least) and I`ve got lots and lots of spray deodorant options over here; but the one I use is available in the USA too. I set up a double boiler (glass mixing bowl over a pot of gently boiling water since I don`t have fancy things), melted the 5 tbsp of coconut oil in the bowl, and added about a 1 tbsp of chopped sage. Men`s deodorants that contain primarily natural or organic ingredients include Organic Grooming by Herban Cowboy, Aubrey Organics Deodorant Spray, Burt`s Bees Men`s Natural Deodorant and Tom`s of Maine Natural Deodorant.
